The National Museum Gjergj Kastrioti Skenderbeu, also known as the Skanderbeg Museum and the Kruja Museum, is located in Kruja and is one of the most visited in Albania. The inauguration of the museum was made on 1 November 1982 in the castle of Kruja. At the same time, this museum has the character of a memorial that is treated as a northern Albanian tower. Architects of the museum are Pirro Vaso and Pranvera Hoxha. The museum complex has been distributed in several locations that are chronologically visited by events. This museum was built in the famous Kruja fortress, the headquarters of the arberian state and the personification of the defeat of the Ottoman armies, for three consecutive years, in the nineteenth century.
